Municipal Charges Capped 2.0% E Gippsland

East Gippsland Mayor Cr John White said “well documented and challenging events of the past year, and the continuing impacts of drought are not lost on this Council. Our budget has been framed accordingly,” He went on to say…

“The draft budget we have proposed ensures the organisation is appropriately resourced to deliver the works, services and initiatives set out in the Revised Council Plan 2017-2021. It responds directly to the Plan’s strategic objective that ‘Council is in a strong financial position and can provide for future generations of East Gippslanders’.”

The Minister for Local Government has set the rate cap at 2.0% for the 2020/21 year, however Council has proposed that the general rates and municipal charge will remain at the 2019/20 average level of rating for the 2020/21 year.

interesting that elsewhere in the South East the possibility of capped (no increase) for services actually is being discussed… have a look at East Gippsland link:

Grew up and schooled on the Mornington Peninsula, South East Australia, with not a care... i then encountered life... i know now that life can be way better... So i found myself graduating as an Engineer and grasping Engineering Science, Calculus and Communication as electives... Armed with these tools, the options became much broader, However, Australia was looking restricted in careers, and sad to say, the grass looked greener abroad... so i stopped right at that point in thought... And with long story drastically shortened... "Do something in the South East that will make a difference in opening the short falls”.... i am delighted to have been accepted to utilise those 3 Rs in my tool bag (Yes, i know - just follow my flow please).... to write, report and Respond on this new media Voice.
