Offensive reasons… Richardson’s
• having missed the opportunity to talk to Gladys directly, I discovered that I could not call her back;
• I don’t need Gladys to tell me how great Andrew is: he has done little else himself for as long as I can remember. And I well remember how in one of his finer moments he said that he was proud to represent those who had supported him (I’d always understood up until then that a member of parliament was elected to represent the interests of all his/her constituents, not just those who had voted for them);
• as I suspect many constituents have done over the years, I’ve written to Gladys (& her predecessors) on a number of occasions to share with them my views on a number of issues. Gladys & her pals were not interested in my views then & I don’t think anything has changed. So why would I be interested in them or what they have to say?
So Gladys, please don’t ring again: not, that is, unless you want an earful about my views on your woeful government & your woeful Minister for Announcements, Mr Constance. By the way Gladys, could you please confirm that you’ve booked a public phone box to address your supporters after we have had our say on March 23rd? Cheers.
